Ok people here is what is going on with me in the last four months that I have been away from my live journal items.

Over the last few months I have been going around like crazy at work, I did get a nice trip to Hawaii, compliments of the US NAVY to fix a broken airplane.... that was not totally broke but that is nothing we will get into at this time...

During the month of august through September I will be outside of the USA, though I know only one or two.. if that.. even read this any more, but I will have a nice laptop that I will be bringing with me to Japan. For those that are wondering what I am bringing, it is going to be an ASUS M51 laptop, I have the Newegg.com link if anyone is interested, but for the bang for the buck, I would say it is a good deal.

If anyone wants photos while I am there, let me know... only thing I dont like of the laptop im going to get is that it runs VISTA. So if anyone knows of good ASUS drivers for windows XP

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220308

Any helpful tips would be nice, I just dont want to run Vista if I dont have to. Though I know Ubuntu 8.04 would do fine, just waiting for the new drivers for the 9500M GS for the laptop.

But anyway, I have been doing ok, aside from working my ass off and working like a dog and having to take on mounds of responsibility at work. Also working night shifts are starting to get on my nerves, my sleep schedule has been fully demolished, I am so tired during the day that I find myself wanting to sleep during the afternoon and cannot get to sleep until like 6 - 8 AM the next morning just to be up at 2pm for work at three. Im in sooo need of a vacation.

Thanks for listening to my ramble.

Ok, well to start off, I finally got a download of Ubuntu 8.04. I wish first that I would have been able to make an ISO of the DVD, but so far the one I have is very good. I FINALLY have the ability to do the Compiz desktop. It is so cool having my computer being able to do the 3D desktop cube. I recently had updated to an 8800GT 1gig and the latest Ubuntu works wonders with it.

Its late so more to come on this when I get the chance.

Right now im still on day 1.5 making my new linux to what I want it to be, still having a slight issue with sound and youtube, but its getting better.

Ok, so the test with the tiny computer I got from my roomate is turning out to be an epic fail. I think it is the CF card I am using, it will not let me install an OS on it, if anyone might have a suggestion to one that does, let me know, perhaps it is just that I am trying to install Damn Small Linux on it. It is a Transend 4gb CF card x120. From what I was reading, It should have been able to accept an OS, but seems it was wrong. I will be purchasing a Solid State drive soon 8 - 16 gigs for testing linux's versions and other items to see what they might have in store for me.

Aside from that.. not much in the realm of worldly things. Had A few nightmares the other night, but those seem to be under wraps as of late.

Dumpster Diving treasure?

Ok, this is a post to show just how much of a geek/nerd I really am.

My roomate just bought his girlfriends computer from her. (she moved due to job and was wanting to get rid of her computer) It was a nice Pentium 4 computer, a decent desktop computer for my roomate.

He has had 2 old computers, one being a computer that ran.. if I remember right... Windows 98. It was an old desktop he had gotten rid of long time ago and purchased for.. I think $5 a very small E-vectra computer... and I do mean SMALL (see the photos attatched) This E-vectra is a pentium 3 and very old with a very small harddive.. only 10 gigs and slow as all out.. yet when he threw it away...I found myself diving though the recycle part of the trash to find this thing. I found all but the power cord (Maybe he still has it at time of post, if not I have a nifty power converter... thing.) So, I have me an old POS Dinosaur computer that I am going to ... well see what is on the old drive.. then trash the old POS harddive and pay the money for a 'gender change' converter to adapt a 4 - 16 gig (or whatever frys offers for cheap and fast) compact flash drive and test a ghetto solid state drive on it. A few hours ago I downloaded and burned a copy of Damn-small-linux to a CD to use on this computer.

I know this is an old POS outdated thing, and I know im still not fully into my geek card. -waves his geek card around as he laughs at himself for doing the animations.. 'hey im roleplaying things here' card-

So I am going to put a solid state flash card on this old thing, by a KVM switch. (((( Which I do need and have been wanting for a while ))) And will use this small thing to geek out on and see what I can do with linux.. just for shits and giggles if nothing else.

OBTW... Stego.. if you do happen to read this.. maybe you and kat will understand why I am being such a geek ^_^

Ok, so I did not post on the new 2008 when it happened. For christmas, I had received a wonderful gift, an iPod Touch from my girlfriend, stefy. ^_^ the only compaint except from the fingerprints all over it (taken care of with a nice hard case) Is that it does not like my wireless that much, sometimes it connects, other times its a pain. But all in all, its a lovely lovely wonderful device and my jaw had hit the floor when I opened up the box. She sent it to me, I would say about a week or more before christmas, so it was sitting on my shelf in a plain brown box. Had I known what it was I would have gone insane wanting to open it.

My jaw did hit the floor when I opened it up and saw what it was. After installing iTunes and getting some stuff on it, I played around with it for like 4 hours.

Another.. well christmas purchase I did, was a laptop from a friend for only $40 I have linux Ubuntu studios installed on it, just upgraded the ram to 512 from the 256 in it. So after messing with that and having a few headaches, I have it set up... kind of.. how I want it.

Halloween update

Ok, well here is what my halloween was like.

Last night I made it to my friends house, we were going to a club not to far away that does some pretty good halloween parties. The bar is called borderline, and just to let everyone know, www.borderlinebarandgrill.com is their website, yes I know its long, but look for pictures of me and my buds in costume there. Among the fact of me being in suit, my buddies costumes were Joe dirt, News anchor (from a will farrell movie, and i cannot remember the name) and a SWAT outfit... btw, the SWAT stuff is mine, I brought it for him to wear.

Well, we got to the club early and just hung out, wandered around from 8:30 till the contests started about 11ish. I had alot of people complimenting me on my costume so I felt good about that. The way the judging was is the owner of the place, a sponser and some other workers went around and gave you tickets for the contest. I got one for Scariest and when it was time, I made my way up on the platfor with 5 other people. The first guy there, who also had complimented me on my outfit, and, if I noticed right, He had a wolf tail on. Still not too sure about that cause my mask has dark lenses in it so it might have just been his jacket. Anyway, he leaned over and was like "dude you won it already, just enjoy it" I just laughed cause the judging had not even started. Well they called off for audience applause for the contestents, I was #2 in line.. and I won the scariest costume contest by a HUGE majority of screams and claps.

I was happy for winning, you go to a place with only $20 in your pocket for sodas and leave with $100... Dont know about you, but im happy.

The rest of the night was just hanging out and such. We all went back to my buddys house, played cards and had some more beers. (I was Designated Driver..... again....) But all in all, had a pretty fun night. ^___^

Ok, those that dont know, yes I live in california right now, and there are quite a bit of fires going on aroud the area I live in. I will let everyone know that I am safe and sound. Yes there are fires around me, but nothing close, even if there was something close, like the fires in the ventura county, they are still many many miles off from where I am, and to my knowledge, they are very much contained. I do have friends in the SanDiego area, as well as the San Bernardino area, I wish them well and I will keep my paws crossed for you all. But I am safe where I am at.

This new version has a 3D desktop feature, and for a free Operating System that is more virus resistant then windows with Norton, I would say I am pretty pumped about it, the only downside... linux is more in depth then normal windows, but I amd willing to learn.

Groton trip completed.

First off, I want to apologize for not being able to get any picutures, they were really anal about cameras on base, cause its a submarine base, so sorry, pictures were a no go. I did get a photo of myself dangling from a lanyard in a body harness, and no, not the bondage type body harness, the stuff used in construction.

DAY 1: THE TRIP.

Ok, day one, was awake for almost 24 hours from start to finish, minus the air travel time. Got to Los angeles airport at about 4:45AM, not bad making it there in only 45 minutes. The line was long as hell and nearly was late on my flight. I was able to make it to my gate just as they started to board first class passengers, so that was a reliefe. By the way, flight left at 6AM. Flight to chicago went pretty smooth, was able to take a nap on the flight and watched schrek the third, funny movie. Flight from chicago to Providencs.... X.x;;; Got seated in the very back of the airplane, no recline to my chair, and the AC in the plane barely worked, not a fun flight. Arrived at the airport, got my bags and all that, got my rental and made it to Groton. The drive was nice, trees all over the road and being in a convertible PT cruizer, was a bonus too. Pretty much just got my room and passed out after that, was extremely tired.

DAY 2: Woke up at 6:45 and walked the block to my school building, class started at 7:30. 25 people in the class, instructor was pretty cool, he handed out lotto tickets for answering questions and stuff, not every single one, but some of the trick ones, and during reviews. The first day there, was in the upper 80's and pretty humid. Got out of class at 4 and power napped in the room for a few hours. I had left a message for serenity to hit me back so I could take her and her mate to dinner or even hang out. They lived only a few miles from where I was.

DAY 3: Just more class work and such, however there was something funny during a break. I went outside as I normally do for air and as I was sitting there chatting with classmates on their smoke break, a firetruck rolled up to the school house, I was looking all around for smoke but didnt see anything, thought maybe it was a drill. This was the funniest thing that happened next. 5 fireman got out of the truck and there was several khakis -chiefs or officers- around them, they had a fire extinguisher and walked over to the trashcan with the attatched ash tray, and squirted out the ash tray, apparently there were smouldering remains in the ash tray and a little smoke. My thoughts on it, how hard would it be to pour out a drop of your soda onto it. Still no idea who or why they called the fire department, but it was still freaking funny. Class ended at 4 again, went out, got some sushi at the NEX... btw.. for a small base, they made fresh sushi there, that was my lunch for the rest of the week. mmmm sushi :9. Drove around and hung out, went to the near by strip club, was free to get in for military, hung out there for only 30 minutes and left. Money spent there, $4 for a soda $5 in stage tips.

btw.. still no call back from serenity at this point.

DAY 4: More class.. more books and review, but this day after lunch, we were put in the harnesses and dangled from the celing, I do have a picture that I will be showing, but you have to be on Secondlife to see it. Went out that day on a drive, found the outback and applebees and staples, didnt find the mall and didnt feel up to the drive to go to a casino. I did call and leave a message for serenity again.... still no reply. Went bowling when I got back to base, first game shot only a 75, but the second game, over 200 and was very impressed, I thought I had a chance at hitting 300, but never got close.

DAY 5: Last day.

Pretty much just review and took the test, passed it and got my certificate. Grabbed some sushi lunch before I left, and headed to the airport. Never got a reply or call back from serenity, it sucks cause they were the only furs I knew up there and they were not around, I hope they didnt avoid me. Providence airport was a breeze to check into, got my stuff there, got though the line real quick, then hibernated at the bar in the airport for the 90 minutes before my flight, had some nachos and a few jack and cokes. Landed at Dulles airport, talk about a huge place, had to take a shuttle across the runway to my terminal, these are like buses that sit up bout 20 feet, kinda cool. after a 5 hour flight back to LA, got my bags, got picked up, made it home and passed out. Slept from about 6AM till 4PM and will most likely sleep the rest of the day after this.

Look for more posts, I had a strange dream that I might need someones opinion on.

Ok, this is just a silly lil rant at pizza hut.

This morning, I was up about 3AM and my friend Navajo was awake and usually IMs me to say goodmorning (5AM his time). We were talking and he said he wanted a pizza, so after getting his work info and findind a close by pizza hut, I set my alarm for about 8AM my time to get him his pizza in time. Well I called the pizza hut in time and asked if I can use my debit card to get him a pizza, and the guy taking my call "No, we cant do that, cause we have to deliver the pizza and get a swipe of the card." So then I ask him "well, what if I do it online then?" what do i hear back????? "No, cause we still have to swipe the card when we deliver it." so after saying thanks and hanging up, I get here and just wanted to say.. wth.

Im not emo or upset, it is just kinda strange, when you order something online or use a card, how hard is it to just deliver something, talk about stupid.

A long work day, but with happy news

Ok, first off to start.

Today about midnight thirty 12:30, I checked my cell for any missed calls and what not, and to my surprise I recieved a text message from a very good friend of mine, Tanisha, she is pregnant with her second child. ^.^ Her and her man found out the news tonight and are extatic, I didnt call her yet due to the time, but I am very happy for her, yes I do plan to call her tomorrow sometime before it gets too awefully late.

Congratulations tanisha on the second child ^.^

Secondly, got home about 3:45 and to my surprise, there was a box by my door, and what could it be :o ........... MY MOTHERBOARD CAME IN !!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the new intel board I ordered came in finally, only thing I hate about Tigerdirect, they take their sweet time with non 3 day shipping, future note to self, pay the extra for 3 day shipping. *slaps himself in the forhead*

I will be getting back on SL and back to a good computer soon, the only hard part will be getting up at a decently early time to go get my new harddive, CPU and RAM and Video card.  The cool thing is also, one of my buddies at work, made a computer with the SAME stuff I want to put in mine, aside from the ATI video card.   The board will support ATI crossfire, but not SLI.. no big loss there.   I will go with Nvidia, 512MB GDDR3 or higher if I so feel the desire to be hawt to trot ^.^;;;;

But he told me that the computer he built is totally rock solid and very fast. He has a core 2 duo E6600 and Corsair XM2 RAM, same stuff I want, he had nothing but awesome things to say about it.

So to end it all off, the fox will be back on Second Life here very soon, with a computer that FINALLY is not a lemon. And to those 2 people that I pay to read this... NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER BUY AN ECS MOTHERBOARD... THEY SUCK ASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

People believed there were many ways to become werewolves, such as drinking rainwater collected in a wolf's pawprint, eating meat gnawed on by a wolf, or being born with a full set of teeth or covered in a caul. And unlike movie werewolves, werewolves of old were oftentimes harmless and highly honorable! As a werewolf, you are loyal, strong and honorable, and you will protect all you hold dear with your very life. Although you are not a violent individual at heart, you will fight for what you believe in. You are a good friend and truly are a wonderful person to be around.
Take this quiz!

Quizilla |
Join

| Make A Quiz | More Quizzes | Grab Code

Clubbing gone bad...

Ok, so things are not as bad as they might not have first seen. But I should have known that the night was going to be a crappy one.

I got off work at about 1030, and was able to make it to the club (bar sinister in LA) at about 1145 with traffic. I should have known that things were going to be adding up for a crappy night. While sitting in traffic my rear bumper got bumped from a girl in a white mustang behind me, there was no damage and nothing was wrong, but it was just enough of a bump to feel it, talk about an impatient driver.

Parked in the pay for parking, gotta love the $15 to park, but when it’s a fenced in lot, you get some peace of mind, if you don’t mind being packed in like sardines. I donned my armor and headed over to the club. (Btw, no scratches on my car in the parking lot, just to let you know.)

I paid my entry fee, $10 and put on the mask and gauntlets and headed in. The RainX that I had on the inside of the lenses started to fail early on, so I was forced to take off the mask and remove the lenses, foggy tinted lenses = no vision in a club. I usually have good night vision, but yeah, when all you can do is see a few feet in front of you, better to remove them then bump into people all night.

I sat down and removed my gloves gauntlets and mask, found a nice quiet semi out of the way corner and slowly worked my lenses out of the mask without harming the mask at all, also now think I should invest in some auto tinting lenses and Velcro them in instead, if anyone has a link to some let me know. The lenses not the Velcro :P .

While sitting there and fiddling with the lenses, some Goth guy came up and said the thing I hate to be called "OMG its batman, wait... no your a ant eater right!" I was pretty upset but I remember that not a lot of people knew that the mask was a fox, I don’t mind being called a wolf, since they are similar, but being that far out, yea, and that’s an insult to me. I showed him the tail and said very politely "try again" so he said I was a raccoon, after showing him the tail again and saying, No, it’s a fox. He still said I was a raccoon or an aardvark. Just biting my tongue I sat down and fiddled with the last remaining lenses, that is when I nearly came to breaking his arm. He grabbed one of the gauntlets and said in his semi drunken state "ohhh ooh, let me try it on" I was polite and told him I would rather he not, that they are very valuable to me, well obviously he didn’t hear it or didn’t care, he put it on and was drooling over it and showing it off to people around us. I kept my eye on him and kept my cool as I told him where I got all of it. He finally put the stuff down and I donned the gear again, after removing the other lens and pocketing them both.

Once that ordeal was over, I made my rounds around the club, it was more crowded then usual, one of the reasons I don’t want to go there, the club is TINY, and when you add me into a small room packed with people, if I am not in the right mind, I can get very claustrophobic, I know its a strange one, I can be put in a locker and be totally comfortable, but a huge crowd in a small room..... X.x ;;;;; .

I wandered around up and down stairs for about an hour, listened to music and chilled, a few people really loved the look, and one gentlemen that was selling some leather goods was really interested in it, I took one of his business cards and chatted with him, he was very respectful and asked if he could touch my mask, and I let him, and he was very careful about touching it, he never grabbed it or anything, talk about knowing and being a professional. We chatted some more and a few others looked at me and were very impressed, so that was a good part of the night.

I excused myself after about 15 minutes and went to wander around again. I went to use the facilities and while in there, I was hearing some of the guys in there talking about how stupid some of the people looked in there and how they just want to find the "freaky bitches" to get some action. I bit my tongue under the mask and finished what I was doing, good thing I was in a closed off stall and had the luxury of not being seen, yet having to listen to people act like they were just in some normal hip hop club and talking smack about the people around them. When finished I wiggled my way past the people and back into the club, with the sounds of "Hahaha, and that’s one of the freaks I'm talking about" right behind me as I left.

Clearing my mind I went back outside to get some fresher air and relax. Moving though the sea of people I was irritated to see people pointing at me and laughing under their breaths, you know how it is, all huddled up, pointing and giggling, yea, gotta love that. When I move though a crowd, I am very good about making myself small and being able to slip though, however, I don’t know why or where or whom this came from, but while being very careful to swim past some people, I ended up getting nut checked, not very hard, but enough to feel and make me flinch. I made it over to a corner and took a breather, and while in the semi shadows and able to have my eyes masked by the dark, I kept on seeing people pointing at me and seeing them laugh a little. That was about all I could handle in that club, I left only a minute later, removed my mask and gauntlets on the way out, got to my car and removed the rest of the stuff.

On the way home I had time to think about the club, and was upset at how shallow the Goth crowd has become, it seemed like just a hip hop club with people just in the black clothing and being asses. So all in all, I don’t think I’m going to be going back to bar sinister anymore, Das Bunker is a club I might go to again, but if I see the same thing there, I think my time of going to Goth clubs is over, I am not very pleased to see those that should be accepting of everyone, be biased and shallow and rude.

But I know people are people, and me complaining can do nothing of it, but just letting everyone know what’s been going on for me.

Second trip to the Ren Faire.

Ok peoples, this was the second time I went this month.. well, in the last month, that would be 4 weeks time for those out there. [randomness]

Well, this time I am pleased to say that I was not alone on my ventures, I was able to have a date with a girl I met from Califur 2007. She has her own ren faire stuff and loves to go to them, so needless to say we had a good time there. Aside from the heat and not being able to have my mask on for a good majority of the afternoon, I would say that things were very well this time.

As ususal, when I go out in my armor {satchel} I become a celibrity, needless to say this only happens at ren faires and at a few conventions. The usual started, got to the gate, got my tickets then had Andrakya [fursona of the girl I was with] helped me put on my satchel mask. Was not long after that, 20 feet if I do remember, that I had the cameras snapping photos, and also for my amusement...... The puritans were back, so after scaring a few of them for life, or just the day, we went inside and hopped from booth to booth.

Around luch time the heat got too much and I was forced to remove the mask for the next 3-4 hours. Trust me, in all black and all black leather, it gets very hot in there, better to not risk heat stroke and stay cool, then trying to look cool and end up passing out or worse.

Lunch was awesome, I got to chow down on a big turkey leg for lunch :9 very very tasty, andrakya had a 1/4 chicken, she was as hungry as I was. Most of the rest of the afternoon was spent looking at items that I want to have but know I could never afford on my paycheck. I did find a very very nice doublett [leather vest jacket for those uneducated types] that I UBERLY wated [yes new word].

We also spent most of the afternoon going to some of the side shows, most of the time was spent at the NC-17 one, more baudy jokes and off color humor in that one, Katze, you would have loved it if you would have gone to it last time. Even drunk or sober, you will laugh pretty hard.

The comedian/juggling act was very funny as well, wish now I had a video camera but still, fun fun fun times at the faire.

Items comsumed.
1 bottle of water [shared and refilled]
1 turkey leg for lunch [very yummy]
1 pear cider, very tasty malt beverage.
1 bowl of ice cream with lots of whipped cream and strawberries [shared]
2 glasses of honey mead.

All in all, very very fun time. BTW, We stayed over night friday and saturday. I knew I was going to be tired from the night drive and from the faire. Time from my house to hers. 1 hour 30 minutes no traffic, Her place to faire grounds. 35 minutes. From motel to faire. 6 - 10 minutes, depending on traffic lights and how fast I go >.> <.<

AND NOW. PHOTOS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Slowly over the course of the year, I plan on putting a nice body kit on it, as well as a spoiler and turning it into a show car ricer. I am planning on selling my 2003 honda CBR 600RR motorcycle, and just stick with my one vehicle right now, to save moolah and what not.

Here is a photo of my car.

Also, was at the PS party this saturday and got to try on the anubis mask that Stego makes, they are nice, but hard to see out of, more to post when im not falling asleep at the keys.
